Volleyball Recap: Fruitdale Comes Up Short

Fruitdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Millry Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Thursday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-19, 25-13.

Millry found their leader in freshman Sawyar Brown, who had 23 assists and four aces. Those 23 assists set a new season-high mark for Brown.

Fruitdale's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Millry, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Fruitdale is set to challenge their familiar foe McIntosh at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Millry will face off against rival Leroy at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
