Baseball Recap: Village Christian Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Village Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They never let the Fayetteville Christian Warriors get on the board and left with a 20-0 win. Considering the Knights have won six contests by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Carson Woods made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Ben Gooch was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Joseph Randolph was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5.

Village Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fayetteville Christian only posted an OBP of .400.

Village Christian Academy's record now sits at 12-5. As for Fayetteville Christian, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Village Christian Academy will host Wayne Preparatory Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fayetteville Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on The O'Neal School at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
