Baseball Recap: Potterville Comes Up Short

Potterville extended their losing streak to 11 on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 3-13 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Morrice Orioles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Orioles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 on Saturday.

Logan Long and Tyler Langfeldt did some serious damage despite the final result: Long went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Langfeldt went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That double marked the first that Long has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Kipton Hall, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As for Morrice, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 12th.

On Morrice's side, Griffin Long was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases and three runs. Wyatt Cartier was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Potterville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 18-17 defeat against Webberville on the 28th. As for Morrice, they have also already played their next match, a 1-0 loss against Bendle on the 28th.
