Softball Game Preview: Fruitvale Bobcats vs. Como-Pickton Eagles

Fruitvale is 0-7 against Como-Pickton since February of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Fruitvale Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Como-Pickton Eagles at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

On Friday, Fruitvale got the win against Martins Mill by a conclusive 7-1. That's two games straight that the Bobcats have won by exactly six runs.

Kyla Bain made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Bain was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ronnye Tull, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Madyson Bierl was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Fruitvale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Como-Pickton made easy work of Alba-Golden on Friday and carried off a 14-4 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Fruitvale and bumps their season record up to 4-5-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 6 runs. As for Como-Pickton, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
