Recap: Rankin Red Devils vs. Van Horn Eagles
The Rankin Red Devils were the 80-37 winner over the Van Horn Eagles when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Rankin fell 35-24 to Van Horn on Tuesday. Rankin has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Van Horn's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gio Corralez, who scored 12 points along with 4 steals. Corralez hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Anchondo, who scored 11 points.
Rankin's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Van Horn, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rankin will take on Coahoma at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Van Horn, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.
