Baseball Recap: Harrells Christian Academy Triumphs

Harrells Christian Academy's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Kerr-Vance Academy Spartans by a score of 7-2. The win continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.

Dawson Smith was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Harrells Christian Academy is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-9 otherwise. Jaiden Stallings was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Harrells Christian Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Harrells Christian Academy's record now sits at 3-9. As for Kerr-Vance Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Looking ahead, Harrells Christian Academy will be taking part in a tournament against Lakewood at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Crusaders are facing the Leopards at the right time seeing as the Leopards are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Kerr-Vance Academy, they will take on Oxford Prep in a tournament on Friday. The Griffins will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
