Basketball Game Preview: Chester Hambletonians vs. Burke Catholic

The Chester Hambletonians are taking a road trip to challenge Burke Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Chester is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past Tri-Valley with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 71-55. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hambletonians.

Meanwhile, Burke Catholic didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Middletown last Friday, but they still walked away with a 61-56 win. Given Burke Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 239th, while Middletown is ranked 591st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chester is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Burke Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Chester came up short against Burke Catholic when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 61-49. Can Chester avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
