Basketball Recap: East Palestine's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

If Leetonia wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played East Palestine, they should've done a better job of containing Kyler Bourne. The East Palestine Bulldogs claimed a resounding 83-52 victory over the Leetonia Bears thanks in part to Bourne, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in steals (three).

Dylan Brown and Dylan Johns certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Brown posted 11 points, while Johns had 11 points. Another player making a difference was Carson Brock, who earned eight points.

With the win, East Palestine broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-9. As for Leetonia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

East Palestine has already played their next game (against Academy for Urban Scholars), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Leetonia will take on David Anderson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
