Volleyball Recap: Marana Comes Up Short

Marana saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell 2-0 to the Thunderbird Titans.

Ella Bowser paced Marana's offense, picking up ten kills. Bowser got some help from Amaris Fuentes and her 15 assists. Bowser was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Ema-Lee Burke went supernova For Thunderbird., getting 21 digs and two assists. Burke is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Cecelia Bouchard was another key player, getting 15 assists and seven digs.

Marana's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Thunderbird, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-10 record this season.

Marana didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against North Valley Christian Academy on the 19th. As for Thunderbird, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Horizon Honors on the 19th.
