Basketball Recap: Whale Branch Comes Up Short

Whale Branch lost against Hampton County back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Whale Branch Warriors received a blow as they fell 67-49 to the Hampton County Hurricanes.

Hampton County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyler Davis, who went 11 for 15 en route to 24 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Davis a new career-high in points. Jaquan Solomon was another key player, going 8 of 12 on his way to 21 points and five boards.

Whale Branch's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Hampton County, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 17-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whale Branch will face off against Barnwell at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Whale Branch is facing Barnwell at the right time seeing as Barnwell is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Hampton County, they will be playing at home against Bridges Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hampton County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.3 points per game this season.
