Basketball Game Preview: Grace Christian Academy Lions vs. University School of Nashville Tigers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Grace Christian Academy Lions face off against the University School of Nashville Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday... Grace Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully University School of Nashville likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Grace Christian Academy came up short against The Webb School and fell 68-59. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while the Feet are ranked 30th).

Despite the loss, Grace Christian Academy got top-tier performance from Ford Deshazo, who went 7 of 12 en route to 25 points and eight rebounds. Deshazo continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Ty Gibbs was another key player, going 5 for 12 on his way to 11 points along with six boards and four steals.

Meanwhile, University School of Nashville beat The Webb School 46-37 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

University School of Nashville's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-10. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Grace Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Grace Christian Academy came up short against University School of Nashville in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 56-48. Can Grace Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
