Softball Recap: McLean County Cougars vs. Bullitt Central Cougars
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ohio County, McLean County was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They skirted past the Bullitt Central Cougars 10-8. The high-scoring effort was just what McLean County needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.
Sophie Frailley and Shelby Rickard did most of the damage at the plate: Frailley scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Rickard went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and a double. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Walker, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
McLean County's win bumped their record up to 6-16. As for Bullitt Central, they dropped their record down to 7-13 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
McLean County will play host again on Saturday to welcome Caverna, where first pitch is scheduled at 1:00 p.m. As for Bullitt Central, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Bardstown at 5:30 p.m.
