Preview: Sugar Creek Wildcats vs. Charlotte Lab School Lions
Sugar Creek has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Charlotte Lab School Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Sugar Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
On Friday, Sugar Creek strolled past Garinger with points to spare, taking the game 72-53.
Terry Watson was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Aidan Gatewood, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Charlotte Lab School's recent rough patch got a bit rougher back in January after their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 87-28 loss at the hands of Carolina International. While losing is never fun, Charlotte Lab School can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 630th, while Carolina International is ranked 211th).
Sugar Creek has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. As for Charlotte Lab School, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-6.
Sugar Creek strolled past Charlotte Lab School in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 56-42. Does Sugar Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will Charlotte Lab School turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
