Football Recap: Upper St. Clair Piles Up the Points Against South Fayette

There's no place like home for Upper St. Clair, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 50-14 victory over the South Fayette Lions. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five contests by 21 points or more so far this season.

Upper St. Clair's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ethan Hellmann, who threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. Dante Coury helped Hellmann out on the ground, rushing for 98 yards and a pair of scores.

Upper St. Clair was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 263 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Upper St. Clair, adding 14 points to the final score. All came from Jacobo Echeverria Lozano: he went 3-for-3 kicking field goals for nine points, and 5-for-5 kicking extra points for an additional five.

Upper St. Clair's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for South Fayette, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Upper St. Clair will face off against Bethel Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Fayette, they will challenge Peters Township at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians' defense has only allowed eight points per game this season, so the Lions' offense will have their work cut out for them.
