Kings extended their winning streak to 19 on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 19-1 in the process. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Milford Eagles a 2-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since April 1st.

The result came thanks to Neely McElhaney's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alexis Fera was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Natalia Brignoni-Marcano, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

As for Milford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since April 17, 2024.

On Milford's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Varner, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Kings and Milford should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Knights will challenge Walnut Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (19 vs. 443). The timing is sure in Kings' favor as the squad sits on 24 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Eagles have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. Meanwhile, Milford (ranked 157th) will meet Anderson (ranked 344th) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
