Softball Recap: Battlefield Triumphs

Battlefield's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 16-13 victory over the Freedom Eagles. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bobcats considering their one-run performance the game before.

Mo Delman was incredible, firing off three home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Wright, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Battlefield lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Battlefield is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Freedom, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-11.

Coming up, Battlefield will be playing in front of their home fans against Patriot at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Freedom, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-4 victory against Osbourn Park on the 15th.
