Basketball Recap: Masterman Piles Up the Points Against South Philadelphia

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Masterman's strategy against South Philadelphia on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Masterman blew South Philadelphia out of the water with a 54-21 final score. Masterman pushed the score to 43-17 by the end of the third, a deficit South Philadelphia had little chance of recovering from.

Leading Masterman to victory were Demetrius Gallier Howard and Raj Chaudhury. Gallier Howard went 7-for-14 en route to 14 points and four steals, while Chaudhury dropped a double-double with 16 points and 16 boards. That's the most rebounds Chaudhury has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tony McCloud, who scored eight points.

The victory got Masterman back to even at 1-1-1. As for South Philadelphia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2-1.
