Soccer Recap: Oakcrest Comes Up Short

Oakcrest and Seton squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Oakcrest had to settle for second. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Conquistadors who were credited with the victory. The Seton Conquistadors got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Oakcrest Chargers' two. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Oakcrest came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked second, while Seton are ranked 190th).

Oakcrest's goal came courtesy of Grace Sweatman, who's now up to two this season.

Oakcrest's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5-2. As for Seton, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-8-3.

Oakcrest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Seton, they will be taking part in a tournament against Trinity Christian at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
