Preview: Stebbins Indians vs. Piqua Indians
Stebbins and Piqua are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Stebbins Indians' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Piqua Indians at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Piqua took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Stebbins, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Stebbins didn't have too much trouble with Fairborn on the road as they won 60-43.
Meanwhile, Piqua came up short against Xenia on Friday and fell 46-33.
Stebbins pushed their record up to 9-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Piqua, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
Stebbins didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Piqua when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 33-27 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Piqua's Isaiah Martin, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 18 rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Stebbins still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
