Basketball Recap: Gulliver Prep Raiders vs. LaSalle Royal Lions

The Gulliver Prep Raiders won the last time they faced the LaSalle Royal Lions, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Gulliver Prep came out on top against the Royal Lions by a score of 50-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Gulliver Prep.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gulliver Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mikayla Brown, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Allison Podvin was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with four steals.

Despite the loss, LaSalle saw an underclassman step up: Alexandra Gonzalez casar scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and three steals. Gonzalez casar is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachael Restrepo, who scored ten points.

Gulliver Prep has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for LaSalle, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gulliver Prep will take on the Mavericks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Archbishop McCarthy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while the Raiders are ranked 183rd). As for LaSalle, they will head out on the road to face off against the Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
