Basketball Game Preview: Crooked Oak Ruf-Nex vs. Star-Spencer Bobcats

The Crooked Oak Ruf-Nex will challenge the Star-Spencer Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Crooked Oak has three straight victories, Star-Spencer has 11 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Crooked Oak is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Oklahoma's top teams: North Rock Creek, who was ranked eighth at the time (Crooked Oak was ranked tenth). Crooked Oak narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past North Rock Creek 52-50.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crooked Oak to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elijah Garcia, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 15 points. Garcia has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Jamel Morris was another key player, going 8 for 20 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Star-Spencer took a blow against Marshall on Tuesday, falling 74-45.

Star-Spencer's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Crooked Oak, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.

Crooked Oak was able to grind out a solid win over Star-Spencer when the teams last played back in February of 2022, winning 56-48. Does Crooked Oak have another victory up their sleeve, or will Star-Spencer turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
