Basketball Recap: Dawson Gentry Key Part of a Team Effort in Indians Win

There's no place like home for Montgomery County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They put the hurt on the Paris Greyhounds with a sharp 83-58 win on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Indians have posted against the Greyhounds since February 22, 2021.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Montgomery County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dawson Gentry, who went 7 for 14 en route to 20 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Those 20 points gave Gentry a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyce Jarvis, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 20 points and five boards.

Montgomery County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Montgomery County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Paris, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.

Montgomery County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 0-0 draw against Campbell County on the 23rd. As for Paris, they are taking a road trip to challenge George Rogers Clark at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
