Basketball Recap: Community Christian Comes Up Short

Community Christian and Creekside Christian Academy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Community Christian had to settle for second. They were dealt a 77-24 defeat at the hands of the Creekside Christian Academy Cougars. Having soared to a lofty 57 points in the game before, the Knights couldn't push the score so high this time.

Creekside Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Kaiden Williams, who went 7 for 10 en route to 18 points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Williams a new career-high in shooting accuracy (70%). Chase Maddox was another key player, putting up four points in addition to eight assists and four steals.

Community Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Creekside Christian Academy, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-8.

Community Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Creekside Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 80-57 victory against Young Americans Christian on the 7th.
