Recap: Liberty Christian Academy Eagles vs. Bourbon War Hawks
The Liberty Christian Academy Eagles lost against the Bourbon War Hawks on January 4th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Liberty Christian Academy lost to Bourbon on the road by a decisive 43-28 margin. Liberty Christian Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lucy Steward, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Steward pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Moss, who scored 13 points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Liberty Christian Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for Bourbon, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.
Liberty Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mississippi Valley Christian at 2:45 p.m. on January 20th. Mississippi Valley Christian's defense has only allowed 27.9 points per game this season, so Liberty Christian Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Bourbon, they will head out on the road to challenge Vienna at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Vienna is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
