Baseball Game Preview: Harding Skippers vs. Maplewood Rockets

The Harding Skippers are taking a road trip to face off against the Maplewood Rockets at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Harding has given up an average of 10.5 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Harding fell victim to Grand Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 15-0 to the Mustangs. The Skippers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Maplewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Lakeview, falling 14-7.

Maplewood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Sexton, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Maplewood's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Harding, their loss dropped their record down to 3-17.

Harding might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Maplewood in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Skippers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
