Football Recap: Jatylin Smith Leads Amanda Elzy's Defense on Friday

Amanda Elzy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 22-12 to the Greenville Hornets. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Although Amanda Elzy took the loss, they still got scores from Demarcus Brown and Kendrick Gary.

Amanda Elzy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut JaTylin Smith.

Ladarius Adkins was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 69 yards and two touchdowns.

Amanda Elzy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Greenville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0-1.

Looking ahead, Amanda Elzy will face off against Cleveland Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Greenville, they will square off against Greenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
