Basketball Game Preview: Vassar Vulcans vs. Cass City Red Hawks

Vassar hasn't had much luck against Cass City recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Vassar Vulcans are taking a road trip to face off against the Cass City Red Hawks at 7:30 p.m. Vassar has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Wednesday, Vassar didn't have quite enough to beat Caro and fell 62-60.

Vassar might have lost, but man, Austin Long was a machine: he went 8 of 13 on his way to 27 points and four steals. Long's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madix Gorleski, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Cass City, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 56-45 win over Unionville-Sebewaing on Wednesday.

The victory got Cass City back to even at 9-9. As for Vassar, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.

Vassar lost to Cass City on the road by a decisive 52-37 margin when the teams last played back in January. Can Vassar avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
