Baseball Recap: Orcutt Academy Takes a Loss

Orcutt Academy extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 5-14 in the process. They lost 13-3 to the Santa Ynez Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, with their most recent loss being a 25-1 defeat on Tuesday.

Orcutt Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Grindy, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As for Santa Ynez, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games.

On Santa Ynez's side, the team relied heavily on Parker Forsyth, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave Forsyth a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dylan Ross, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

As of now, neither Orcutt Academy nor Santa Ynez have any future games scheduled.
