Soccer Game Preview: Memorial vs. Cy-Fair

The Memorial Mustangs will take on the Cy-Fair Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Memorial is headed into the matchup having not lost since January 10 and will look to keep things rolling. They never let Cypress Ridge get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Tuesday. Given Memorial's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Cypress Ridge are ranked 411th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Cy-Fair came tearing into Tuesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Falcons as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The score was close at halftime, but Cy-Fair pulled away in the second half with two goals.

Memorial's win bumped their record up to 11-3-2. As for Cy-Fair, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1-1.
