First Assembly Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from JAELYN BLACKWELL, who went 9-for-13 en route to 23 points along with six assists and five steals. That's the most points BLACKWELL has posted since back in December of 2025. Another player making a difference was DANIEL TOWLES, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 14 boards.
Meanwhile, Trinity Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 46-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jackson Christian.
First Assembly Christian will have to keep a close watch on Zack Niven and Gabe Lee, a pair of players who had a big impact on Trinity Christian Academy's prior game. Niven dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds, while Lee scored 14 points and five boards. That was a full 41.2% of Trinity Christian Academy's points, marking the third time in a row Lee has put up more than a third of the team's points.
The victory made it two in a row for First Assembly Christian and bumps their season record up to 16-13. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points over those games. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 14-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: First Assembly Christian has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 26.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Trinity Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
First Assembly Christian beat Trinity Christian Academy 67-56 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
