Volleyball Game Preview: Mountain View Mountain Lions vs. Centaurus Warriors

The Mountain View Mountain Lions will challenge the Centaurus Warriors at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. Mountain View will be strutting in after a win while Centaurus will be coming in after a defeat.

On Thursday, Mountain View made easy work of Windsor Charter Academy and carried off a 3-0 victory.

Mountain View not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Windsor Charter Academy between 16 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-16, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Centaurus didn't have quite enough to beat Fossil Ridge on Thursday and fell 3-2. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the SaberCats 25-18 in the first set.

Centaurus actually scored more points across those five sets (105-103), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-18, 25-22, 18-25, 17-15.

Centaurus' loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Mountain View, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Mountain View might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Centaurus in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Mountain Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
