Manitou Springs's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They breezed past the Woodland Park Panthers to the tune of 49-13. That 36 point margin sets a new team best for the Mustangs this season.

Nolan Barrett went supernova for Manitou Springs, going 6-for-10 on her way to 15 points and eight steals. Barrett is becoming a predictor of Manitou Springs' success: when she posts at least five steals the team is undefeated (and 6-7 when she doesn't). Kate Jorstad was another key player, putting up three points along with six boards and six steals.

Despite the defeat, Woodland Park saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kai Kattil posted seven points. Kattil is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Manitou Springs pushed their record up to 9-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.8 points over those games. As for Woodland Park, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

Manitou Springs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 48-29 loss against Salida on the 13th. As for Woodland Park, they have also already played their next game, a 72-10 defeat against Colorado Springs Christian on the 13th.
