Volleyball Recap: Spanaway Lake Sentinels vs. Graham-Kapowsin Eagles

Spanaway Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Graham-Kapowsin Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Sentinels of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Spanaway Lake was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Graham-Kapowsin work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-27, 25-16, 25-16.

Despite the loss, Spanaway Lake saw an underclassman step up: freshman Tenorah Mauga had eight assists and seven digs.

Graham-Kapowsin got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kyla Kennedy out in front who had 16 assists and three digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ana Sei, who had three digs and two aces.

Spanaway Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Graham-Kapowsin, with the victory, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 10-5.

Spanaway Lake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Olympia on the 22nd. As for Graham-Kapowsin, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Sumner on the 22nd.
