Baseball Game Preview: Woburn Memorial Tanners vs. Reading Memorial Rockets

For the first time this season, Woburn Memorial will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are taking a road trip to challenge the Reading Memorial Rockets at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Tanners fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. Everything went their way against Medford on Tuesday as they made off with a 16-5 win. The victory continues a trend for the Tanners in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Reading Memorial had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Red & Black.

Woburn Memorial came up short against Reading Memorial in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 9-6. Can the Tanners avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
