Basketball Recap: Asheville School (Independent) Drops Highest Score of Season Against York Prep

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Asheville School (Independent)). They breezed by the York Prep Patriots to the tune of 85-57 on Wednesday. The Blues have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 22 points or more this season.

Asheville School (Independent) was led to victory by Heimir Helgason and Miki Gacic. Helgason posted 26 points along with six boards and three blocks, while Gacic dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 assists. Helgason's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Deuel, who had 13 points and seven rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for Asheville School (Independent) and bumps their season record up to 10-3. As for York Prep, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season.

Asheville School (Independent) wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 74-46 loss against Christ School on the 17th. York Prep has also already played their next game, a 75-34 win against Buford on the 16th.
