Basketball Game Preview: East Webster Wolverines vs. Booneville Blue Devils

The East Webster Wolverines will challenge the Booneville Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in East Webster's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matches.

East Webster is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They skirted past Yazoo County 61-59. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolverines have posted since November 7, 2024.

Meanwhile, Booneville waltzed into their contest on Saturday with 13 straight wins... but they left with 14. They were the clear victor by a 65-41 margin over the Lions. 65 seems to be a good number for the Blue Devils as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

East Webster has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.4 points over those games. As for Booneville, their victory bumped their record up to 25-4.

East Webster suffered a grim 65-43 defeat to Booneville in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can East Webster avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
