Jayden Madison made a splash, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. He was dominant the last time he took on Northwest Rankin back in March of 2024, so they probably should've seen this coming. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his third in a row with less than two hits. On the year, Madison has an ERA of .57 over 24.7 innings pitched.

Madison's effort led Petal over Northwest Rankin and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Petal has some work to do to even out the 2-8 series between these two since March of 2021, but a win here would be a good start.
