Softball Recap: Discovery Comes Up Short

Discovery had lost 12 straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-12 to make it 13. They lost 15-0 to the Lakeland Christian Vikings. The Spartans were not able to make up for their loss to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

As for Lakeland Christian, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-7 record. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by nine runs or more this season.

For Lakeland Christian's part, Presley Young was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Emerson Tyler was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Discovery didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-1 defeat against Haines City on the 15th. As for Lakeland Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-8 victory against Davenport on the 14th.
