Softball Recap: Calallen Extends Home Winning Streak to 21

Calallen came tearing into Friday's game with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Zapata Hawks a 10-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-0 back in March.

Calallen got a great performance from Bianca Gonzales as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Gonzales has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Audryna Almaraz was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Kiana Vargas was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.
