Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Midland Trail

Midland Trail entered their tilt with Sherman on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Tide by a score of 5-1. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Tide last Friday, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Madison Rader made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Jesse Skaggs was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Raelyn Morris, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Midland Trail's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Sherman, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

Midland Trail wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Greenbrier West on the 23rd. Sherman has also already played their next contest (against Man), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
