Baseball Game Preview: Molina Jaguars vs. Sunset Bison

For the second straight game, Molina will face off against Sunset. The Jaguars will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Bison at 5:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, Molina didn't have quite enough to beat Sunset and fell 3-2.

For Sunset's part, Edwin Chavez made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Chavez also tossed a walk, which is notable because Sunset is 7-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 7-9 otherwise. Chavez was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Chavez wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Pablo Benitez, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits Benitez has posted since back in March.

Molina now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Sunset, their win bumped their record up to 14-10.
