Volleyball Recap: Coon Rapids Takes a Loss

Coon Rapids and Bemidji squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Coon Rapids had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Lumberjacks. The Cardinals' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

While Coon Rapids ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-20, 25-20.

When it comes to explaining why Coon Rapids lost, don't look at Josh Kavanaugh. Despite the final result, he had 14 digs and two assists. Kavanaugh is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 11 or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Coon Rapids' defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Bemidji, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

As of now, neither Coon Rapids nor the Lumberjacks have any future games scheduled.
