Recap: Durango Demons vs. Montrose Red Hawks
The Durango Demons were the 53-51 winner over the Montrose Red Hawks when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Durango took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Montrose on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Montrose to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brekin Hutto, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hutto has scored all season. Kaleb Ferguson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Durango has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Montrose, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Durango won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Fruita Monument at 1:30 p.m. on January 27th. Fruita Monument is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Montrose, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grand Junction Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
