Baseball Recap: Rye Takes a Loss

Rye was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 10-6 to the St. Mary's Pirates. The Thunderbolts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Rye saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Derek Taylor, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Jackson Bjorum also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Rye's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for St. Mary's, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Rye wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 9-1 loss against Peyton on the 8th. As for St. Mary's, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-3 defeat against Front Range Christian on the 5th.
