While Orofino's  win against St. Maries wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Maniacs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  an  8-6  victory over the Lumberjacks  on Saturday. The Maniacs haven't had any issues with the Lumberjacks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive  win against them.
 Reece Deyo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and three unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been consistent  recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Brynn Hanna, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Rilee Diffin, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Orofino's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for St. Maries,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 6-6.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Orofino will  face off against  rival Grangeville  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, St. Maries is set to  take on  their familiar foe Priest River  at 2:00  p.m.  on  the 21st.
