Baseball Recap: Mitchell Comes Up Short

Mitchell blew Salem out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Salem got their revenge. The Bluejackets fell just short of the Lions by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bluejackets have suffered since April 7th.

This is the second loss in a row for Mitchell and nudges their season record down to 5-7. As for Salem, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mitchell will host Orleans at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bluejackets are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Salem, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Harrison at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
