Basketball Recap: Zach Martinez Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Edison

Lanier posted their closest win since November 23, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Edison Golden Bears out 36-34. This was a revenge game for the Voks: when they faced off against the Golden Bears back in December of 2024, they had to take a 50-34 loss.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lanier to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zach Martinez, who posted 11 points. Martinez is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Daniel Laque was another key player, putting up nine points.

Lanier's record now sits at 12-14. As for Edison, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 14-15 record.

Lanier has already played their next contest, a 43-39 victory against Highlands on the 28th. As for Edison, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 54-30 loss against Jefferson on the 28th.
