The Pleasant Grove Eagles will challenge the Ponderosa Bruins at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pleasant Grove will be strutting in after a victory while Ponderosa will be coming in after a defeat.
Pleasant Grove is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Cosumnes Oaks on Wednesday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Wolfpack recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Madeline Lawson made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those hits were her first of the season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Shealynn Stinson was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Logan Paredes, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Ponderosa and Vista del Lago, and Vista del Lago kept the tradition alive. The Bruins fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-1 last Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Bruins couldn't push the score so high this time.
Ponderosa also got a good showing from Marissa Granade, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Granade has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ponderosa saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kate McCartney, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
Ponderosa has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Pleasant Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Pleasant Grove was able to grind out a solid win over Ponderosa when the teams last played back in April of 2023, winning 3-0. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
