Murphy's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Blue Ridge Early College Bobcats a 9-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Murphy, who have now won eight matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Blue Ridge Early College from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Brooklyn Johnson led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Murphy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those six contests. As for Blue Ridge Early College, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-8.
