Basketball Recap: Jellico Drops Highest Score of Season Against Knoxville Central

Jellico scored the most points they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Knoxville Central Bobcats by a score of 62-60. The Blue Devils were up 32-18 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Despite the defeat, Jellico saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kendall Osborn went 9 for 14 on her way to 27 points and seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Osborn has scored all season. Savannah Lay was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Jellico dropped their record down to 1-13 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Knoxville Central, they moved to 4-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Jellico will welcome Oakdale at 6:30 p.m. on January 7th. As for Knoxville Central, they will head out to face off against Carter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
